MIRACLE THEATRE’S SUMMER TOUR 2008
“Jason”
Love, death and seasickness in the Lap of the Gods
Adapted and directed by Bill Scott
Devised and performed by
Jason Squibb, Ben Oldfield, Rosie Hughes, Charlotte Bister and Sally Crooks
The ancient Greek equivalent of a passionate holiday romance – with predictable and very messy consequences!
Miracle Theatre’s new summer outdoor production transports you to the lands of Greek legend and romance as our hero, Jason, battles against the odds – with the help of the Argonauts, their mighty ship and a few chickens!
One of the greatest epic adventures of all time, Jason’s quest for the Golden Fleece contains most of the ingredients you’d expect to find in a classic story: a perilous journey, bravery, jeopardy, revenge, plenty of comedy and a dose of the supernatural. Loosely based on the great tragic drama by Euripides, written two and a half thousand years ago, Miracle’s 2008 version tells the gory tale of Jason's love affair with, Medea, a girl he meets at the furthest end of the world and brings back to civilized Greece; with predictable and messy consequences.
Cornwall’s Miracle Theatre Company has been entertaining audiences in the South West for over 25 years and is one of the region’s most popular theatre companies. Now touring widely across the UK, Miracle’s reputation for “sophisticated innovative comic theatre” just grows and grows.
‘Jason’ will visit venues throughout the South West until the end of August. For full tour list and details about how to get tickets, visit www.miracletheatre.co.uk
