Despite a little more rain over the last few weeks you may have noticed that we're still not exactly swimming yet. Consequently there isn't quite enough water in the mill pond to run a full demonstration of the mill. However from 11am - 12pm and 2 - 3pm two of our millers will be available to answer questions and talk you through the workings of the mill - they just won't be able to run the mill wheel. If you wanted to postpone your visit please be aware there are two other demonstrations coming soon (water permitting), the next one is in the new year, on January 11th.
As the clocks have gone back we are now operating our winter opening hours. This means that last entry to the gardens will be 4pm, the cafe remains open until 5pm and the Shop and Plant Centre until 4.30pm.
Luckily the big storm last night has by-passed Hestercombe and all is open for business as usual. It's looking like a lovely autumn day between the showers so get outside for a walk in the gardens!
