Rodney’s Christmas Coat
‘Rodney the Rooster has been cooped up all year,
He spent his summer idle, without any cheer.
But now that the winter is here and Christmas is soon,
Rodney’s heading out to explore Hestercombe!’
Rodney the Rooster has been cooped up indoors all summer long. Now Christmas is here, he’s ready to head outside for some fresh air and fun!
Enjoy a fun family day-out this Christmas with one of our December trails, Rodney’s Christmas Coat! Join Rodney on a festive adventure as you take in the sights and sounds of the winter Hestercombe landscape garden. This trail includes a wonderfully written and illustrated short story you can take home and read again and again.

Rosie’s Festive Foray
Can you hear the giggles coming from the formal gardens…? Rosie the chicken has found some delightfully devious Christmas Elves messing around, so soon before Christmas!
Come to Hestercombe this December to explore our formal gardens to find all the elves hiding under the bushes, hanging from the Pergola, and diving between flower beds. Each elf has a secret letter with them; find all the letters to reveal a secret message!
After completing Rodney’s Christmas Coat, speak this message at the café or Ticket Office for a super special prize!
The elves for this trail were lovingly designed by Green Days Day Care.

Covid-19 safety
Our trails have been specially designed to help limit the spread of COVID-19. Please be sure to observe social distancing as you complete the trail, and avoid touching any signs. Read more about the Covid safety measures we are implementing at Hestercombe.
