Gardens Trail: The Artist’s Apprentice - 17th February 2020
*Please note, this event is currently on hiatus but will recommence when Hestercombe has reopened.*
Follow in the footsteps of Coplestone Warre Bampfylde on our fascinating half term trail. Young artists will be able to create their own version of one of Coplestone’s paintings whilst learning a little about his life along the way.
When their masterpiece is complete, they will graduate as a Master Artist and even have a certificate to prove it.
This year marks the 300th birthday of Coplestone Warre Bampfylde – the artist, engineer and architect who designed Hestercombe’s Landscape Garden. He was also the former owner of the Hestercombe estate! We are running lots of events throughout the year to celebrate his life and works.
Later in the year, we’ll use all of the drawings to recreate one huge version of Coplestone’s painting and display it at Hestercombe.
New for 2020, complete all our family trails this year and receive a special enamel badge!
