Come and join the team to help us run our new Gallery Shop!
The Hestercombe Estates team is currently looking for volunteer skilled handypersons who can contribute to the regular maintenance of our Grade I and Grade II listed garden buildings, stone walls, and general maintenance of the buildings on the Estate. Some knowledge of listed / heritage buildings principles would be useful, however we are keen to hear from anyone who is happy to share their knowledge and skills with us.
From working selling books to visitors to doing the ‘behind the scenes’ sorting there’s lots to be done in the bookshop. We have donations arriving every week that need sorting, pricing and cleaning before they can be put out for sale. And once they’re on the shelves there’s serving visitors and chatting to them about the books they like. We ask for a commitment of one morning or afternoon every two weeks.
As a volunteer in this role, you will meet and greet visitors to the new Hestercombe House Gallery, helping them to get the most out of their visit. You will have information about each of the artworks in your section and will be working as part of a team. You will be responsible for safeguarding the paintings and guiding visitors through the different rooms of the ‘pop-up’ gallery.
We're always looking for donations of books to stock the book shop ~ any number, any type. If you have books to donate please contact Linda Sandford.
