This Saturday is a momentus day for Hestercombe as the House is finally re-united and opened up to the public for the first time in over 100 years.
Several spaces have been reclaimed and are being used as a Gallery. The first exhibition 'Leaping the Fence' contains important artworks from the last 25 years including pieces by Tracey Emin, Mark Wallinger and Marc Quinn, plus many more. The exhibition will challenge the visitors perspecive on art, as many of the works evoke images or structures from the outdoors, or the garden world, that have been brought into the Gallery spaces.
Alongside the Gallery there will be a second hand bookshop for which we can thank many of our volunteers, members and friends for help setting up and donating books.
Opening times for the Gallery, House & Bookshop will be alongside normal garden opening, 10am - 5pm. Admission is included in garden entry and so is FREE to members.
We were on TV last night - here's a pic!
