We are OPEN

In the run up to Easter (eek - only two weeks now!) we've got LOADS going on...

The Ticket Office should be open for the Easter weekend, those of you who have visited recently may have seen the rubble at the entrance (sorry!) but fear not! It won't be long and we should have a new desk, two people working, and a real, welcoming entrance once again. The plans show a desk all the way across the entrance so there will be more space for a person to help customers, and more space behind for the reception. We're hoping this will draw the whole of Hestercombe closer together - it should be a real centre for information once open.

Matt & Dave hard at work...

If you do want to visit the gardens before the Ticket Office re-opens, just shout up to let them know you are coming through. They don't bite!

Easter is set to be a family-fun-filled few weeks! Last week I was very excited to speak to Bryony and Gav at Moorland Poultry about the possibility of some visiting hens. Their prize Gold Brahma hens will be around over the four day weekend and hopefully there will be some baby chicks, just hatched, for small groups to peek in and see too. I have volunteered to be chief chicken carer and Helen in the Plant Centre will also be helping to feed and water the guests.

As well as chickens we've got an Easter trail (bunny footprints appearing this weekend!) egg decorating, colouring-in and egg rolling competition. So you'll have plenty to keep energetic children occupied over the holidays. I'm particularly looking forward to decorating my egg! After bringing in bag fulls of polystyrene eggs I think I deserve it!!
