We are CLOSED

During the heavy rains of last year we had a lot of flood damage around the garden. Many of the culverts simply collapsed under the pressure and we have slowly worked our way around repairing them all.

This was the leat path. The water knocked out lots of the bricks that form the leat and this all had to be repaired.

Th stream at the bottom of the cascade had such a huge volume of water trying to run through it that a lot of it was washed away and it lost its shape.

After a lot of help from our volunteers moving stone and gravel from further downstream, the team have finally managed to repair the cascade stream. The cascade is a natural water course so we have had to wait to wait until the summer so that there is less water running down and it is easier to get the work done. Luckily we had such a dry spell of weather that the water stopped completely.

The stream is now complete and I think it looks great.
