ILLUMINA - MAGICAL NIGHT TIME LIGHT SENSATION
As dusk falls, visitors to the gardens will be immersed in a sensory spectacle as the natural beauty and impressive features of Hestercombe are transformed into a visual masterpiece by special light installations.
After the extraordinary success of last years’ event, light installation artist Ulf Pedersen is returning to Somerset to once again create his magical illusions at the famous Hestercombe gardens. Bristol based Pedersen, is famed for his work with Power Plant, a ground breaking event involving 5 artists who have set up light and sound based interventions in various botanical gardens around the world, including Durham and Edinburgh as well as staging sell out exhibitions at Arts festivals in Sydney, Hong Kong and Hobart.
Hestercombe provides the perfect back drop for the ethereal genius of Pedersen’s creations, which last year included the hugely popular projection of a giant, goldfish appearing to ‘float’ mysteriously over the lake. Pedersen promises to build on last years’ event and through his unique combination of light and sound will be again transforming the historic landscape of Hestercombe into a magical world where all is not what it seems!
