Basic Edible Horticulture

This course is for you if you have never grown food before, sown seeds or planted out, but would like to start.

An introduction into growing food at home or on an allotment, designed for complete beginners.

Topics include:

• Sowing
• Planting out
• Planting shrubs & trees
• Weeding
• Watering
• Harvesting & Storing

Please wear sturdy footwear and dress for all weathers!

This course is delivered outside on site, and the ground is uneven. We will spend some time under cover in the polytunnel / glasshouse.

Suitable for:

Anyone with very little or no knowledge of food growing and is ready to make a start - we will introduce you to the first steps so you can take first steps at home or on the allotment

About the event (including practical elements):

We will sow seeds, plant out, talk about crops, discuss watering, raised beds, tools and more in order to help you start

You will leave with a good understanding of the first steps to undertake at home.
