Christmas Botanicals: An Art Workshop at Hestercombe

Come and join illustrator Katherine O'Shea in this festive art class, where will learn to capture seasonal plants in the beautiful historic setting of Hestercombe House.

No experience? No problem! This class is designed for all levels including complete beginners.

We will start the class with some warm up drawing where you will be guided through the basics of capturing leaf and plant shapes - such as holly, ivy, and mistletoe - using some clever tricks demonstrated by Katherine.

We'll then begin capturing our chosen plants through "silhouette painting" where you can create some beautiful paintings to use for cards or gifts along with letter stamps, or simply just to practice art in a peaceful setting alongside others.

We will finish with tea/coffee and mince pies, and you can continue on to explore the house and gardens feeling inspired.
