Event Details

This workshop takes place at our demonstration Market Garden at Hestercombe and is designed for gardeners who want to increase the amount of food they produce for personal consumption.

Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, this session explores what self-sufficiency means to you. You’ll learn how to align your ambitions with the space you have available, creating a tailored plan that works in the UK climate.

This course is best suited to gardeners with a basic understanding of seasonality in food growing. (If you’re interested in growing for sale, we offer separate courses for professional growers.)

Topics Covered

  • Crop selection for self-sufficiency
  • Choosing the right varieties
  • Seasonal planning
  • Planning your plot by square metre to meet your food needs

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
