Shifting Ground by Stephen Smith

Shifting Ground is an exhibition by artist in residence Stephen Smith accompanied by works from The Ingram Collection of Modern British Art.

Predominantly working with painting, drawing, print and installation, Stephen Smith’s work is complemented by historically significant artworks, one in each space, by Frank Auerbach, Elisabeth Frink, Geoffrey Clarke, John Tunnard, Terry Frost, Roger Hilton, Patrick Heron and Lynn Chadwick.

The exhibition is the culmination of Stephen Smith’s residency at Hestercombe Gallery in 2016
