Every year at Hestercombe, the Gardens team make sacks of charcoal using traditional methods, hundreds of years old.
Our Gardens team are on hand to answer any questions you may have as they improve this area for wildlife throughout the day.
There will also be opportunity to do some charcoal drawings with artist, Jon England, from 10am to 5pm.
Artist Jon England will lead a range of charcoal-related activities suitable for all ages and abilities during the course of the day - from smaller-scale charcoal production to drawing and mark-making, tree and leaf identification and working directly with the landscape.
Location: The Charcoal Burner's Camp is next to our play area in the Landscape Garden ~ great for all the family.
