We are CLOSED

Having been on holiday last week (what a relief to get away from the cold weather for a while!) I come back to find that FINALLY the weather is beginning to warm up! Hestercombe is such a different place in the summer months and there are at last some signs of change to give us all some hope of a good season. Plus, just yesterday we were featured in the Independent as one of the 'Top 10 Best Gardens to Visit'. So I'm sure there will be a flood of new visitors now!!

And as with all holidays, now I'm back there's plenty to get stuck into. This week has seen some more confirmations for the Christmas Market go out to successful applicants and the next step is picking a few for our Summer Fete which will be on Saturday 1st June. I'm really looking forward to this one as it should be lots of fun to organise as well as take part in! There will be a few stall on the Orangery Lawn for that extra special summery treat and loads of games. Everyone's been coming up with ideas - make your own garden, tug-of-war, a tombola, coconut shy, face painting, strawberries & cream and all those things that just remind you of summer. Let's hope the weather holds this year!

Have to say I missed the plentiful supply of cakes whilst away (the kitchen knows what I mean!!) and am so please to meet our new pastry chef Trina, who has surpassed my baking expectations and there are now so many more varieties of cakes for me to try out!
